Rodney is a 2 year old male fawn coloured Malinois who is not neutered, is microchipped and vaccinations will need to be restarted.
When
the assessor entered the home Rodney was shut in the kitchen. When the kitchen door was opened Rodney entered with another dog, a
12 year old Staffy bitch. Rodney was barking so assessor let him approach and have a good sniff before entering further into his home.
He was barking but appeared friendly but wary. The entire time assessor was there Rodney was on the move, he never settled although
he approached a few times for a pet but soon moved away.
Rodney is a well loved dog but unfortunately he has never been trained or
walked since he was about 4/5 months old as a result of not being walked he is hyper on the lead. Rodney has no clue how to go for
a walk, he is pulling everywhere, in every direction and is strong although there is potential for him to learn. He nearly had the
assessor over a few times.
He has not travelled in a car since he was 6 months old and when he did he sat panting.
Rodney currently
lives with a 12 year old spayed Staffordshire Bull Terrier and is fine with her but with dogs outside he is dominant with other dogs.
He lives with a cat but he does chase the cat. Rodney would be better rehomed with older children.
He will need an experienced active
and dedicated home who are willing to put the effort into training him. He is just a big puppy in a full dog's body.
In the right
hands he will make a lovely pet.
