This handsome lad is 3 year old Thunder who needs a new home as his current owner can no longer meet his needs.

Thunder is neutered: had puppy vaccinations only: he is microchipped. Thunder is people friendly. When strangers :enter he will give a little bark and a half hearted Grrr, but there is no real aggression. Soon becomes inquisitive and comes for a sniff and then quietly lies down. Currently lives with 11 year old child who he has been around since she was 8. Would be fine with older children.

Thunder hasn't lived with another dog, but he has had stay overs with 2 GSDs (one passed away recently) and a Collie pup. Good with the GSD, but less tolerant of the hyperactive pup, but has not harmed. On walks interested to meet other dogs to play. Never had a fight. No to cats. Thunder likes to be out but is currently getting very little exercise. Our volunteer was told that he was strong on lead, but that was not his experience. Out for a good half hour walk he was on a normal collar with a Halti training lead. Given the full length of the lead he took it but did not pull. On a short lead while on street he walked nicely. This lad knows a number of commands and responded well to our volunteer. Said to respond better indoors than out. Thunder does appear to have some separation anxiety which results in him licking his paws and scratching. Does not chew or bark. We believe that an element of this may be caused by lack of good exercise and boredom. Buster needs a new owner with time, patience and commitment to help him overcome this issue. With appropriate exercise, mental stimulation and initially short periods of absence: maybe the introduction of a distraction like a Kong stuffed with food to work at Thunder may soon understand that when people go out they always come back. Thunder clearly had a good start in life, but much of this has gone by the board since current owners have become unable to manage.

Love patience and refresher training in a variety of environments will make a good family pet into a great one.
