I'm a 12 month old, male German Shepherd.
Milo is a stunning 12 month old boy who found himself in rescue due to a relationship breakdown. Milo was rehomed but sadly returned
as he needed much slower, calmer introductions to life.
Milo is not yet neutered, so will be rehomed with a neutering contract.
is vaccinated and microchipped.
Milo has never been around cats, and he would most likely pester the life out of them, so a cat free
He does have some issues that mean we will only rehome him with children over teenage.
Milo is housetrained, travels
really well in the car & is ok to be left short periods.
Milo is good with other dogs , as long as they do not show him aggression,
then he will stick up for himself. He loves playing chasey games with large sized bitches, and could live with another dog. On walks
he ignores other dogs unless they approach him.
New owners MUST be aware that Milo does have food aggression issues, with other dogs
and humans, and this must be worked on. He is much better with toys/ possessions now, and doesnt guard them as much. However the food
aggression is his main vice.
Milo is a typical mouthy teenager, who hasnt ever been taught any boundaries or manners. He is desperate
to learn & eager to please- but does get over excited & needs calming. He needs an experienced owner who wont let him get
too hyper & will guide him into adulthood.
He greets people well, but can jump up. This is improving and he is much better at
meeting people now.
Milo walks well on the lead, he responds very quickly to correction if he pulls. He ignores people/ traffic/joggers
etc. Recall not tested.
Milo has been x-rayed as his previous owner thought he had problem hips, & the vet did feel there was
some dysplasia in the right hip, but as he is still growing & had absolutely no muscle tone, this was not a firm diagnosis. Since
being in our care his muscle tone has improved massively & he is much stronger on his hind legs. He has joint supplements daily
& these will be provided by the rescue for life.
Milo is an intelligent boy who needs calm, firm leadership & not bullying
or forcing into doing anything. He will be a fantastic dog in the right home.
